In Decision 2013-112, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) approved an average interim rate increase of 1.048%, to be applied to currently approved distribution charges. The actual rate increase is dependent on your specific rate class. The interim rate change ensures AUI's compliance with the AUC's Performance Based Regulation and allows AUI to recover increasing costs of providing gas distribution service.
The increase applies to the distribution service charges currently approved for 2013 (Base Energy Charge, Fixed Delivery Charge, Demand Charge and Default Supply Provider Admin. Fee). For an average residence using 117 GJ annually, this equates to an increase of approximately $6 per year. The interim rate change does not apply to Gas Cost Charges (Rider 'D'). Third-Party Transportation Cost Charges (Rider 'G') or Special Charges.
