Monthly Gas Cost Recovery Rate - $1.645 per GJ

Effective for consumption from July 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009 
The Gas Cost Recovery Rate (GCRR) is the amount charged to recover the cost incurred to purchase the natural gas used by our customers.

• The Gas Cost Recovery Rate is set at the start of each month.
• Each monthly rate is based on an estimate of what gas will cost on the open market during the month.
• If actual gas costs during a month are higher or lower than the estimate, the Gas Cost Recovery Rate will be increased or decreased in the following month to make up the deficit or to refund the surplus.

Change in Distribution Rates

Effective on and after May 1, 2009
On March 30, 2009 the Alberta Utilities Commission approved increases to AltaGas Utilities Inc.'s gas distribution service charges (Decision 2009-038) on an interim refundable basis. The increases permit AUI to recover increasing costs of providing gas distribution service. Details of the new rates are located in the Rates & Rules section of the website, as well as the bill insert provided with your March statement.

Change in Contribution Rate (Rural – Other)

Effective November 1, 2008
On October 21, 2008 the Alberta Utilities Commission approved an increase from $2,700 to $3,500 for the standard Rural – Other contribution change. This charge pertains to new service construction in the rural areas AUI serves.
